Since when
I cannot remember when I saw this online. It seemed like a bizarre clip bait dream? How can something so small possibly exist? Does it work? Just what? How? I must know more because it looks fantastic. So I googled, Reddited and researched. Found out about DRMs, Calibre, sideloading and so on.
How I use it
I read everywhere. At home and while commuting. I once visited a friend over the weekend and read the entirety of Terry Pratchett's Night Watch on the X3's tiny screen. I've been obsessed; finding books, buying books, converting books, sideloading books, reading books.
It has definitely improved my enthusiasm for reading and carrying something around that's so cute, small and customisable has been an absolute blast.
What I love
I keep it in a tiny edc bag with a couple of other tiny electronic devices. It brings me so much fun and joy to know that I have it and can take it anywhere with me for endless entertainment. No interruptions, no ads, no content that I haven't specifically curated for my own joy. Pure freedom.
What I'd change
A front light would be nice. Oh, and I wish you could connect the X3 directly to the computer and transfer books over cable. I don't really use the other book transfer features and mainly have to manually remove the memory card from the X3 to run on my laptop. Bit annoying, but I only have to do it occasionally so meh.
Tip for new members
Get a case!! Get a screen protector!! These things are delicate and worth protecting! Also a case and additional add ons just add to the fun of customising this thing for your own joy.
