InkPoint X is an open-source firmware for the Xteink X3 and X4, built on CrossPoint and inspired by CrossInk. It keeps the lightweight, button-first reading experience while expanding the range of supported formats and adding practical features for everyday use.

The main focus of InkPoint X is broader document support. In addition to EPUB and TXT, the firmware adds full local support for FB2 and PDF files. FB2 books support metadata, chapters, embedded images, reading progress and bookmarks, while PDF documents can be rendered page by page with scaling, navigation and caching.

InkPoint X also includes reading statistics, custom fonts from the SD card, a built-in photo frame, OPDS and WebDAV access, a device web interface, Wi-Fi file management and OTA updates through GitHub Releases.

The project is designed for users who want to get more from their compact Xteink reader without turning it into a complicated system. InkPoint X is independently maintained, fully open source and not affiliated with Xteink.
