Xteink pushed a significant update addressing the most common community requests collected since May 2026 (268 feedback entries reviewed).
New system languages
German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Vietnamese, Malay, Indonesian, Thai, and Greek.
New reading languages
Same list as above, plus Turkish — readable without importing additional fonts.
Improved reading layout
First-line indentation, better italic text rendering, and improved word-wrapping with hyphenation.
Performance and battery
Faster book loading and page turns. Reduced power consumption for a more stable battery life between charges.
More bookmarks
Local bookmark limit raised from the previous cap to 100.
How to update
- Complete Wi-Fi setup: Sync → Network Connection
- Go to Settings → Update
- Install the available update and wait for the reboot
Who it's for
Stock firmware is the right starting point for any new owner. The interface is clean and intentional — fewer options means less configuration before you're reading. The July 2026 update has closed a significant part of the gap with community firmware for non-English readers in particular.
If you later want more EPUB control, advanced navigation, or customisation options, look at CrossPoint — but give stock a few weeks first.
