Platform updates: wallpapers, members & moderation

I’ve been spending a lot of time in the code editor lately to make ReadMe.club more useful, easier to browse, and safer for the community. Here is a breakdown of the latest updates.

🎨 The Wallpaper Gallery Overhaul

A Better Browsing Experience
Finding the right wallpaper for your specific E-ink screen is now much easier:

  • Device filtering: You can now filter the entire gallery to show only wallpapers optimized for the X3 or X4.
  • Smart Tags: Wallpapers now feature clickable tag pills (e.g., Landscape, Abstract, Dark) to help you quickly find the exact vibe you are looking for.
  • Improved Sidebar & Pagination: Navigating through hundreds of images is now smoother, with quick filters right in the sidebar.

Smarter Submissions
If you want to share a wallpaper with the community, the submit flow has been completely redesigned:

  • Target Device & Tags: You can now assign up to 5 tags and specify if your image is for the X3 or X4.
  • Transparency: You can clearly declare if an image is "Made with AI" or if there is a potential copyright concern.

🛡️ Moderation: A Call for Volunteer Mods

As the site grows, we need tools to keep the content high-quality and relevant. I've built the technical features, but since I'm just one solo developer doing this in my spare time, I cannot manually review every single image uploaded.

Here is what is new:

  • Community Reporting: You can now flag a wallpaper directly from its page (for being AI-generated, copyright infringement, or offensive content).
  • The "AI Slop" Filter: If you don't want to see AI-generated art, you can simply check the box in the sidebar to hide it from your feed entirely.
  • NSFW handling: Sensitive content is now blurred by default with safe-loading. Logged-in members can permanently unblur these images in their settings.

🤝 Call for Community Moderators:
I have built an internal "Moderator Mode" that allows trusted users to quickly review reports and hide inappropriate content from the gallery. If you are passionate about keeping our community resources clean, high-quality, and free of spam or "slop", I need your help. If you have a few minutes a week to spare and want to be granted the Moderator role, please shoot me a PM on Reddit - u/iamkxrz. Let's keep this place awesome together.

👤 Member Features & Full Data Control

Save Your Favorites (Finally!)

  • You can now click the Heart icon on any wallpaper to add it to your favorites.
  • You will find all your saved wallpapers neatly organized in a dedicated tab inside your private member area.
  • (Note: Your 10 most recently liked wallpapers will also be showcased on your public profile).

One-Click Account Deletion
Your data belongs to you. If you ever want to leave ReadMe.club, you don't need to send me an email anymore. You can now delete your account with a single click in your settings. It will instantly wipe your sessions, magic codes, contest entries, and cancel any active Supporter subscriptions.

What else?

  • The X3 Giveaway: The contest is still running! Don't forget to enter on the dedicated page.
  • The New Owner Guide: I've published a massive, structured guide for new X4 owners.

I really focused this update on better metadata, a cleaner gallery, and full user control. If you spot a bug or have an idea for a new tag category, feel free to reach out on Reddit or via the site.

Thanks for being part of ReadMe.club!
